Exemplary All Original Brass King Size Winfield Bed with Stunning Details

This is an incredibly beautiful example of craftsmanship of the Victorian Era, Winfield, a renowned merchant and manufacturer of fine furniture and beds, created stunning items brimming with gorgeous detail.

This bed has fabulous tapered posts, and quite possibly the most decorated rod ends we have ever seen on a bed! They consist of a flower and foliate detail, flanked by two side profile acanthus leaves, creating a stunning arrangement, almost angel-like in appearance/shaping. All brass detail is hammer chased to create the gorgeous configurations you can see on the bed. These rod ends feature on the tops and bottoms of all the uprights, with the foot end having a cheeky additional detail of ‘hockey stick’ shaped rails which join to the foot end posts.

A stunning bed which we have cleaned and highlighted. It catches the light beautifully whilst still respects the age of this stunning bed.

Professionally restored with all joints checked for a solid and secure fit. The side rails have been adapted to be able to take slats or a bed base. Whole frame has been cleaned, tightened and restored to ensure full working order and sturdiness.
