Absolutely Magnificent All Original Winfield Iron and Brass King Size Bed

Description

This all-original Iron and Brass king size bedstead is just magnificent. A fabulous early example of British craftsmanship, made by Winfield in approximately c1850. The head end has attractive castings and lovely shaping within the all-iron panel. Original decorative Winfield knobs.

The foot end has a gorgeously decorated curved end, with classic Winfield stylings for the all-original decorative brass. The foot end also has gorgeous foliate hammer chased twisted/spiral brass posts. Briming with detail, do see all photos.

This bed happily takes a standard king size rectangular mattress, but would also look rather fetching with a shaped mattress for full luxury. Our mattress manufacturer makes mattresses in all shapes and sizes, so do enquire for quotation.

Fully restored to be sturdy, practical and beautiful. Whole frame cleaned and tested for durability. The Iron has been shot blasted and primed prior to hand paint finish in Little Greene’s Jack Black, waxed over to protect and give a soft sheen. All joints checked for secure fit.
