A Regency Period Portrait Miniature

Description

A Regency century portrait miniature on paper by Miss Sharp, in a plain ebonised frame with a moulded gilt oval inner slip and a gilt metal suspension loop, of a young man in profile facing left wearing a brown coat and white cravat on a plain background, papered to the back and with a typed label giving the sitter’s name (Tho. Deakin) and the artist, painted in Birmingham in 1814. Sight 2” by 3”.

Condition: Overall very good, the painting is in very good condition with no damage to the paper, the colours are a little muted but otherwise clear, the frame is in good condition, the back has been repapered at some point in the last sixty years or so. Overall the painting has a charming appearance, with fine features and close attention to detail.
