A Very Attractive George III painted chest-on-chest, late 18th century, in bleached and distressed white paint over a light wood ground. The upper section has two short drawers over three long graduated drawers, the lower section with two short drawers over two long graduated drawers. Decorated with a dentil cornice and fluted canted corners, standing on shaped bracket feet. Fitted with later but old brass swan-neck handles and retaining several original escutcheons and locks.Condition: Later painted and bleached finish with age-related wear and distressing consistent with use. Later antique brass handles.
