A grand and imposing geometrically cushion-moulded chest of drawers. The moulded top is above a double dentil moulding and corbels which return to the ends. The front of the chest is decorated with applied mouldings and split turnings in fruitwood and oak. It has a really nice, clean, dry, original panelled back. Circa 1665. A good, dry, crusty surface and patina.
This chest of drawers has been in a good private collection for 40 years.
