M Lees and Sons has dated this William IV Mahogany Sofa to the 19th Century.
The carved mahogany scroll arms with carved leaf detail and large carved classical-style acanthus leaf motifs to the front . The front bar of reeded and moulded design .

The straight , moulded profile back bar with curved ends and having further carved leaf detail. The seat having a large loose squab cushion and with roll cushions to the ends . In an older, serviceable fabric covering which would perhaps benefit from reupholstering .

The frame in good tight , solid condition. In fresh-to-market ‘country-house’ condition , having been removed from a grade-one listed Warwickshire manor house .
The mahogany frame retaining the original polished surface with a deep, rich colour and patina . Some minor dents and marks commensurate with age and use .
