Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Manufactured in Britain during the reign of King George III between 1760 and 1820, these copper kettles were functional hearth accessories crafted with hand-riveted construction, fixed brass or copper handles, and distinctive gooseneck spouts.

These vessels were typically crafted from sheet copper, often featuring dovetail or brazed seams, alongside cast brass handles or fittings. The interior was traditionally lined with tin to prevent chemical reactions between liquid and raw copper.

Authentic pieces demonstrate hand-hammered seams, hand-cast brass brackets, and hand-cut dovetail joining along the base and sides. They lack modern machine welds and frequently feature slight irregularities consistent with manual 18th-century metalworking techniques.

Position the piece as an accent item on a kitchen island, range cooker shelf, or hearth to add warmth and material contrast. It pairs effectively with natural timber surfaces, exposed brick, and muted neutral colour schemes.

Maintain the metalwork by wiping with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust build-up and fingerprint marks. If a bright shine is preferred, apply a specialised non-abrasive copper polish, avoiding harsh chemicals that might strip aged patination.
