Description

A superb and highly unusual pair of Edwardian mahogany bedroom settees of elegant curved form, beautifully decorated with finely executed satinwood and boxwood inlay throughout. The shaped backs centred with outstanding marquetry panels featuring scrolling foliate decoration, classical urns and birds, creating a particularly decorative and refined appearance.

The graceful tub shaped frames with sweeping arms and generously proportioned seats offer excellent comfort, whilst the slender cabriole legs are further enriched with delicate inlaid detailing to the knees and friezes. The rich mahogany veneers retain a wonderful warm colour and attractive mellow patina throughout.

Recently upholstered in a tasteful neutral fabric which complements the rich timber tones and intricate marquetry decoration perfectly. A rare and elegant pair of Edwardian bedroom settees, ideal for a bedroom, dressing room or reception space.
