Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Ersari Turkmen rugs are hand-woven textiles produced by the Ersari tribe, a sub-group of the Turkmen people located predominantly in northern Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. These rugs are traditionally recognised by their rich terracotta, rust red, and brown palette, featuring repeating geometric octagonal motifs known as guls.

These rugs are hand-knotted using locally sourced, hand-spun wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundation. Natural vegetable and plant-based dyes are used to achieve the characteristic earthy red, indigo blue, and deep brown shades.

Authentic pieces display hand-knotted asymmetric construction, slight natural colour variations known as abrash, and a wool warp foundation rather than synthetic or cotton alternatives. The pattern typically showcases large octagonal turreted guls spaced vertically along the central field with geometric guard borders.

An antique tribal rug provides warm colour and geometric structure when placed in hallways, living rooms, or home libraries. The terracotta and brown tones anchor modern minimal furniture, natural timber elements, or dark leather upholstery.

Vacuum regularly on a suction-only setting without a rotating beater bar to preserve the wool pile. Rotate the rug annually to balance traffic wear and light exposure, and utilize specialist dry rug cleaners for deep cleaning.
