Famille rose porcelain, developed during the Qing dynasty, is characterised by its overglaze enamel palette featuring opaque pinks derived from colloidal gold, often depicting flora, fauna, and pastoral scenes tailored for both domestic and export markets.

These chargers were formed from kaolin clay, fired at high temperatures in kilns such as those at Jingdezhen, and subsequently hand-decorated with vitreous enamels before undergoing a secondary lower-temperature firing.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit soft hand-painted enamel textures, slight irregularities in glaze thickness, characteristic orange-peel texture on the reverse glaze, and precise gilt detailing along borders.
