This is a very good Kurdish runner dating from about 1890. The runner has a fabulous colour palette; the rich indigo field with columns of diamond medallions and flowering plants enclosed by colourful geometric borders flanked by carnation guard stripes. This a nicely drawn example which is in really good condition for the age. It has good selvedges, an even low pile and is in really nice clean condition, ready for use.
