Beautiful Tabriz Silk Rug Carpet

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a very good quality antique silk Tabriz carpet dating from around 1930. It has been finely but densely woven using the softest of silk wool. The carpet has a wonderfully detailed design and an exceptionally high knot count. It has a traditional and simple central medallion design and a colour palette which is very easy on the eye. The field is a lovely soft cinnamon shade and the borders are a warm coral, with detail in indigo and ivory. This is in excellent condition and feels beautifully soft to the touch.

The rug measures 230 cms by 150 cms including the fringes.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
