Large English decorative charger plate in Patent Ironstone China, produced in the early 20th century. The plate features a strong yellow ground with an exotic bird and floral decoration, finished with hand-applied enamels and gilding over a transfer-printed base. The moulded scalloped rim with gilt edge adds to its visual impact and reflects the quality of Mason�s Edwardian decorative output, circa 1915.The pattern follows established late Victorian Mason�s designs influenced by Japanese decorative art, which remained popular with buyers well into the Edwardian period.
