Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this piece to the 1880s.
Antique Caucasian Kazak rug with three 'Memlinc guls' in octagons on a green ground.
Circa 1880.
The three guls stand out against the warm green inner field which is surrounded by a madder red field filled with tribal devices. The main border is the classic white ground with 'oak leaf' design. The rug has wonderful soft wool and fully saturated dyes. This is a really outstanding example of type with superb colour.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear with good long pile with a soft floppy handle.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
