A handsome antique Ushak, Anatolian rug circa 1900-1920 of considerable character and a country house aesthetic.
Featuring a field of characteristic motifs and themes with central medallions and latch-hooks complimented by border, a combination of subtle colours of brick red, orange and blue, produced by vegetable dye.
An elegant runner or hallway carpet with an established, sufficient wear, which is generally expected and admired for a carpet of this quality and age. There are some areas of subtle timeworn appearance which adds authenticity and character with evidence of some minimal restoration, with some historic reweaves at the ends/fringe area. There are some areas of lower pile in the main central field, but no thread bare areas or holes.
