Description

This wonderful PAIR OF ENGLISH GEORGIAN BLUE AND WHITE TRANSFER PRINTED PLATES date from circa 1820.

Unmarked but believed to be from either the Liverpool Herculaneum Pottery or William Walsh of Newcastle Street, Burslem, Staffordshire Potteries.

The transfer print, which shows the MAUSOLEUM OF SULTAN PURVEIZ Near ALLAHABAD and the procession of the MOGHUL or MOHAMMEDAN GOVERNOR OF DELHI, is very well detailed and sharp.

Good condition with no restoration.

Diameter: 9.75 inches (26 cm)

This pair of Georgian earthenware decorative plates dates from circa 1820 in a 19th-century British style.
