M Cross Antiques has dated this piece to a period later than 1960.
On discovery, the owners of Longley Old Hall took their found stoneware fragments to John Hudson in Mirfield, who recognised the pieces as dating to around 1645 and having come from Renthorpe in Wakefield.

Mr Hudson's wonderfully re-created piece, shown here and based on the original piece, is decorated in trailed cream slip with tulips and wavy-edged leaves radiating from the centre, edged with a trailed wavy line to the border.
The overall condition is superb, having no marks, chips or losses.
Other items shown within the images are available in separate listings.
