In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often combined lighter proportions with influences from earlier historical periods, reflecting a shift towards comfort and airiness in domestic interiors.

Bedsteads from this era typically utilized a combination of cast and wrought iron for structural strength, complemented by polished brass finials, rails, and mountings for decorative contrast.

Authentic pieces often feature original casting marks, hand-finished brass components showing natural ageing, and heavy iron frameworks designed to accommodate standard historical mattress dimensions.

Pairing a dark metal and brass bedstead with neutral linens and minimalist decor allows the industrial craftsmanship to serve as a striking focal point in contemporary bedroom schemes.

Maintain iron and brass surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying a microcrystalline wax to brass elements to prevent oxidisation without damaging the original finish.
