Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Founded in Paris in the 19th century, Samson, Edme et Cie specialised in reproducing famous museum-quality ceramics, including Chinese Export armorial porcelain. These pieces replicated coats of arms and intricate enamelled borders originally produced for European aristocratic families.

These pieces were crafted from hard-paste porcelain and decorated using fine overglaze enamel painting and gilding. Artisans applied intricate diaper patterns, floral sprays, and heraldic crests by hand to emulate 18th-century porcelain.

Samson porcelain typically features specific pseudo-marks, such as a stylized S or modified factory marks, often painted over the glaze. Additionally, 19th-century Samson pieces display slightly heavier paste and distinct enamel texture compared to earlier 18th-century originals.

Display these plates on wooden stands atop a sideboard or mantelpiece to create an elegant focal point. Alternatively, mount them in a symmetrical grid on a feature wall within a dining room or library to add historical charm.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or feather duster. Avoid immersing the plates in water or using abrasive chemical cleaners, as this can degrade the delicate overglaze enamels and gilding over time.
