Antique Walnut Bed, Circa 1900 – Fits UK King (5ft)
This is a fine quality antique bed crafted in walnut around 1900, full of character and charm with superb detailing throughout.
The headboard rises to an impressive 151 cm, crowned with an ornate crest featuring scrollwork, shell-like carving, and a central plume motif. The crest is flanked by turned finials and supported by slim column uprights, giving the piece both elegance and stature. Below, a row of finely turned spindles adds balance to the richly carved panel.
The footboard stands 101 cm high (to the finial top) and mirrors the craftsmanship of the headboard, with deeply carved foliate and scroll motifs across the panels. Its symmetry and fluid lines reflect the artistic flourish of late Victorian/Edwardian design. The base is finished with a row of small carved roundels and fluted details, tying the piece together beautifully.
