Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this Antique Uzbek Suzani Textile to the 1920s.
Antique Uzbek suzani of prayer format on a yellow cotton ground.
Circa 1920.
They are then used to decorate the inside of the Yurt. They are often embroidered in silk on strips of cotton which are then joined together to make the complete item. The suzani is then backed with fine cotton to give it strength and body.

This example is of prayer format known as 'jo-i-namoz' with six solar discs and floral sprays on a yellow cotton ground, possibly from Sharisabzh in southern Uzbekistan.
The condition is good with only very slight wear and no repairs, the yellow cotton ground is slightly faded.
The suzani is ready for display.
