Qashqai vanity bags are small, intricately woven pouches traditionally crafted by nomadic tribes in south-west Persia to store personal items, mirrors, or small valuables.

These items are typically constructed using handspun sheeps wool for both the warp and weft, often dyed with natural vegetable colorants such as madder and indigo.

Authenticity is determined by examining the spin and ply of the wool, the structure of the weave, natural colour variations, and traditional tribal motifs characteristic of the region.

Such pieces can be displayed as small wall hangings, framed as textile art, or placed on flat surfaces to introduce texture, heritage, and geometric pattern into a room.

Preservation requires keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fade, periodically vacuuming with a low-suction brush attachment through a mesh screen, and protecting against moth damage.
