Antique Uzbek Gajeri / Ghudjeri kilim with traditional banded design.

This is a traditional manner of weaving among the Uzbeks of Central Asia. The designs are "typical" of this type, often referred to as "Gajeri", which refers to the technique of weaving, a brocade type weave with the dyed warps hanging loose on the back and brought to the front when necessary to make the design. This example has a repeat banded design and wonderful natural dye colours throughout.
Excellent condition, very slight wear.
