Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The centre drawer opens out to form a writing surface, also lined in oxblood leather, which lifts on hinges to reveal hidden storage inside. The top section is supported by twin pedestals flanking the kneehole, each offering a bank of three graduating drawers with turned wooden knobs. The desk is raised on a plinth base and fitted with castors for ease of movement. A handsome and practical piece.
