An outstanding early 18th Century George I Mahogany Bureau of superb faded golden colour and rare small proportions. In mint condition retaining the original handles, locks, escutcheons and feet. Made from the finest Solid Cuban Mahogany, the fall front is as flat as the day it was made. This is an example from the early mahogany period and the sliding well to the interior is consistent with this, having three neatly made secret drawers hidden in the panel in front of the slide is a nice addition and shows the skill of the cabinet maker, the drawers are incredibly clean and have the original leather pulls. The key to the fall works but is a little temperamental.
A charming piece of English period furniture in the condition we love to see, it is a little gem.
