The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has an indentation.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1952, with a maker’s mark for the Birmingham case maker Aaron Dennison, supplier of cases to Bensons. The front and sides of the case are in good condition, some unevenness to the hinged case back.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed J W Benson, London, Made in England. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. Slight discolouration to the sub seconds dial but otherwise in lovely condition.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
