Antique Western Anatolian Milas rug of interesting design and outstanding colour.
Mid 19th century.
A good example of an early Milas village rug with traditional design. The rug has a scarce green ground filled with carnation flowers, the main border is very well drawn. The rug has outstanding clear colours, the wool is fine and soft with superb dye quality.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and good pile. There are a few scattered old repairs that are very well blended.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use. but would make a superb wall hanging.
