Fine bronze plaque on stand entitled S M Astrid, c1925. S M Astrid was a member of the Swedish nobility who went on to marry King Leopold III and became Queen of the Belgians in 1926. The plaque was most likely produced to commemorate the marriage so dates to around 1925/early 1926. It is signed to the front by the artist ''A Daumont'' and on the rear is numbered 511, given the quality of the casting this would have been an expensive piece so numbers would have been limited . Condition is good and the bronze has great colour/patina.
