Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Georgian period, preserve warmers and jam pans were utilised for heating sugar mixtures, jams, and preserves over an open hearth. The deep basin allowed heat to distribute evenly, while the swing handle enabled the vessel to be suspended from a chimney crane.

Jam pans and preserve warmers were typically cast or hammered from heavy-gauge bronze, brass, or copper to handle direct flame heat. Handles were generally wrought from iron and attached via riveted side lugs.

Authentic Georgian cookware features heavy hand-cast or hand-hammered metals, thick rims, and hand-forged wrought iron handles. Look for visible rivet construction at the lugs, irregular hand-worked surfaces, and natural age-related surface oxidisation.

In modern interiors, these vessels are frequently displayed on a fireplace hearth to store kindling, placed on a kitchen island as an orchard fruit bowl, or used as a decorative planter in rustic-themed spaces.

Dust the item regularly with a dry, soft cloth. To preserve historical patina, avoid abrasive chemical polishes; if necessary, apply a light coat of microcrystalline wax to protect the metal surfaces from atmospheric humidity.
