McTague of Harrogate has dated this Antique Maritime Watercolour Painting to the 1910s.
He travelled widely and lived at Hinderwell near Staithes, where as a member of the Staithes Group of Painters he painted many local scenes. Examples of his work are in the Imperial War Museum, Leeds, Wakefield, Whitby, Harrogate and several other Public and private collections.
"The Dock Yard" is a fine example. A watercolour measuring 13" x 16", it is signed lower right and is dated 1910. It is framed in a quality gilt frame giving an overall size of 21"x 25".
