Antique Turkish Kayseri Silk Rug, Superb Pastel Colours, Circa 1900.

Size: 7ft 1in x 4ft 9in (215 x 145cm).
 
Antique Anatolian Kayseri silk rug of single medallion design.
 
Circa 1900.
 
The rug is of very fine weave on a silk foundation, this is a fine rug with very glossy silk, the handle is very floppy like a soft cloth. The rug has a single oval medallion in medium indigo blue on a very soft yellow / gold ground, the field and medallion are covered with a floral vine design. The border is in the same blue colour as the medallion and has a floral design with cartouches.
 
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
 
Ideal to be used as a wall hanging or for light domestic floor use.
 
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
