High Relief Plaque Of Bacchinalian Faun

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Cella

Fascinating, pretty, possibly 18th century small French Grand Tour patinated bronze high relief portrait plaque of a mythological faun in the manner of Clodion in a gilt bronze Rococo frame with integral hanging ring. Slight losses to the edge of the plaque where it has been crudely cut to fit the frame. Rare beautiful little item.
