Woven in the late 19th century is this attractive tribal Yuruk rug, with their classical design of three linked medallions down the centre and with a traditional colour palette. Yuruk''s tended to use the dye apricot/orange for the border, a traditional colour used for this region of Eastern Anatolia, the medallions often outlined in off white. Deep purples and pale blues also are colours famed for this Turkish rugs.
There is lots of pile left on this handsome tribal rug, with some areas of old wear and repairs. Some old wear lines apparent too, please view the close up images. Supplied with our sturdy underlay, this would keep the rug flat and secure on the floor.
