In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian narrative watercolour paintings typically feature detailed figurative compositions depicting historical, military, literary, or daily life themes, executed using water-based pigments on heavy rag paper.

Artists used finely ground mineral and natural pigments mixed with gum arabic on cotton or linen rag paper, typically protected by glass inside wooden or gilded mouldings.

Authentic period watercolours often show subtle age-related toning, foxing on the paper mount or substrate, artist signatures, and traditional framing traits such as aged wooden backboards.

Displaying a framed narrative watercolour as part of a curated gallery wall or positioned above a console table provides balance and depth when paired with clean-lined modern furniture.

Keep watercolours away from direct sunlight and humid environments to prevent pigment fading and paper degradation, and gently clean the glass frame with a dry microfibre cloth.
