18th Century English Mahogany Serpentine Kneehole Desk, c. 1760.
This desk is of the finest quality, made during the Chippendale period and during the reign of George III. It features a shaped veneered top with a leather writing surface above an arrangement of nine short drawers surrounding a recessed cupboard, with fluted angular corners and shaped bracket feet. The desk is in very good antique condition, showcasing a lovely rich colour and patina. It is ready for its new home, structurally sound with smooth-running drawers. Original serpentine desks from the mid-18th century are extremely rare.
Dimensions: 82.5 cm high, 124 cm wide, 54.5 cm deep.
