First quarter 20th century.

A very nice luri tribal saddle bag face with this wonderful abstract/geometric design

Virtually full piled throughout

Hand washed and de-dusted with all ends and sides secured.

This item now makes for wall decoration,use on the floor,backs of chairs/settees or arm facings.

Limited only by your imagination as to what it can be used for !

Surely will fit in well with a modernist interior also.

1 foot 9 inches, (54cm) high

2 foot 6 inches, (76cm) wide. (all sizes excluding fringes).

A Luri saddle bag face, or khorjin face, is a hand-woven textile originally created by nomadic Luri tribes in western Persia to form the decorative front panel of double transport bags.

Luri weavers traditionally utilise hand-spun sheep wool for both the warp and pile, coloured with natural vegetable dyes such as madder and indigo.

Authentic Luri textiles feature hand-spun wool, bold geometric diamond motifs, saturated natural dyes, and structural variations characteristic of nomadic hand-weaving.
