Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

French antique beds from periods such as the 19th century often feature rich wood grains, classical architectural mouldings, and hand-carved detailing that reflect the artisanal craftsmanship of the era.

Authentic pieces are typically constructed from solid hardwoods like walnut, utilizing traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints to ensure structural integrity without modern metal fasteners.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the wood grain patination, hand-cut joinery marks, iron or wooden peg fixings, and historical wear patterns consistent with age rather than artificial distressing.

Pairing a dark wood antique bed with neutral linens, minimalist bedside lighting, and textured wool throws creates a balanced aesthetic that anchors the room while maintaining modern comfort.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and periodically applying natural beeswax rather than silicone-based polishes to nourish the wood.
