A Rare 19th Century Birds Eye Maple Partners Desk Of Exceptional Quality With Solid Mahogany Linings & Working Hobbs Locks c. 1860
The desk, which is of the highest quality, is constructed in three pieces: two pedestals to the base and a locating top section. It has nine drawers to one side and three drawers and two cupboards to the reverse. All the locks have been serviced and the leather hide to the top was replaced in 1972. The leather is nicely aged and in perfect condition. Interestingly, in the desk was a receipt for the replacement of the leather, addressed to the Head of Botany, Oxford University.
At Richard Anthony Rush Antiques we pride ourselves on supplying top quality pieces carefully chosen for their originality, quality and condition.
Richard has worked as a conservator/restorer for over thirty five years with many eminent clients including the department store Peter Jones in Slo...ane Square, London (part of the John Lewis Partnership) for whom he restored and supplied antique furniture for over eighteen years.
Every piece supplied by Richard Anthony Rush Antiques is in fine showroom condition and finished to a very high standard. You can expect all furniture to be clean throughout and ready for your home.
We can arrange a full delivery service. Please contact us for a quote or if you would like additional information about any of our pieces.
