Description

This stunning 19th century French commode has a wonderful bombe form superbly constructed with walnut veneers onto a solid oak carcas. The body of the chest is decorated with attractive inlaid parquetry panels in tulip wood and kingwood and embellished with crisply cast ormolu mounts throughout. This has the original key present and a deep pair of lockable drawers. The separate marble top is in outstanding crisp, clean condition with a delightful figured rouge marbling. The chest is offered for sale in excellent condition with a great, light colouration that would work well in many modern interiors as well as a traditional antique setting.
