Bloor Derby refers to the period of porcelain production at the Derby factory under the ownership of Robert Bloor during the early 19th century, known for ornate gilding and hand-painted floral motifs.

These items were crafted from soft-paste or bone china porcelain, featuring hand-applied enamel colours and heavy raised gilding fired at high temperatures.

Authenticity is typically verified by identifying specific factory painted or impressed marks on the underside, alongside characteristic potting traits, hand-painting quality, and characteristic gilding styles.

Cabinet plates can be mounted on specialist wall hangers as part of a curated gallery wall or displayed upright on a mantelpiece using a secure plate stand to add traditional texture.

To preserve the delicate enamels and gilding, these items should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water with mild detergent and kept away from direct, prolonged sunlight.
