Paris porcelain refers to the output of numerous independent kilns operating in and around Paris, known for fine paste, elaborate hand-painted polychrome decoration, and generous use of gilding.

These items are typically crafted from hard-paste porcelain, featuring hand-applied enamel colours and hand-painted or burnished gold leaf highlights fired at high temperatures.

Authenticity is assessed through examination of paste consistency, wear on the gilt borders, hand-painting brushwork nuances, and occasionally faint incised or painted factory marks on the underside.

Cabinet plates add traditional elegance when mounted on a wall as part of a gallery arrangement or displayed upright on a mantelpiece using a plate stand.

Display these pieces out of direct sunlight to prevent enamel fading, avoid abrasive cleaning agents, and wash by hand with mild soap only when strictly necessary.
