The carpet has two rows of four large guls.

The carpet is of a very useful small size and was woven by Ersari weavers of the Sulayman sub tribe in Northern Afghan Turkestan. The large guls contain a unique design, some call it a tree, whilst the Turkmen refer to it as a rib or spine design. This example has superb colour in warm copper tones and burnt orange.
The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
