Antique Silk Carpet Rug

1900 - 1920
Description

An outstanding silk carpet in super condition with a very high knot count that gives such fine detail to the colourful mirhab design. The prayer rug has a wonderfully intricate central field surrounded by finely detailed borders. The mirhab has a tree of life design with birds on water and a large central urn issuing flowers. Above are multi floral sprays and further birds to the picture. The spandrel’s around the mirhab have a beautiful candy pink ground filled with colourful floral designs.

This has attractive shades of pastel blue, pink, soft coral ivory and deep indigo to the many shades of silks used.

This is in excellent original condition with all of its long tasselled fringes complete.

It comes ready to hang for display with hanging pole.

The rug measures 145 cms by 77 cms overall including the long fringes.

Without fringes the hand woven rug is 125 cms by 77 cms.

UK insured packing and delivery is £20
