Charles Branwhite 1817-1880.Watercolourist and landscape painter who lived in Bristol.Style shows the influence of his teacher William Muller 1812-1845.Subjects were mainly views of Scotland,Wales,the West Country and on the Thames.Exhib. mainly at the OWS (265 works); also at RA,1845-56,and at the BI. ‘ On the East Lyn,Lynmouth,Devon’ signed watercolour,image size 44x60 cms,framed size 66x82 cms.provenance: Exhibited 11/7/1893.Frost and Reed.Inscribed verso.
