A good original watercolour painting of Bamburgh Northumberland, the view looking down the village to the castle, a row of cottages to the right, with a pony and trap on the road.
 
The painting has good colour and in good condition, signed bottom right Frank Wood 1943 with Bamburgh signed to the bottom left.

Frank Wood was born locally in Berwick-upon-Tweed in 1862, a naval officer and ships artist, in his early life he became a professional artist in 1899. In 1903 he sold a painting to King Edward V11 as well as Queen Alexandria purchased his work.
