This is a fine quality antique English Art Deco burr walnut bed, which fits a standard 4ft 6” wide mattress (UK double size), with two-tone burr walnut detail, circa 1930, in excellent original condition.
The tall headboard is decorated with stunning mirror-matched burr walnut timbers, bordered by darker moulded burr walnut timbers. The bow shaped footboard matches the design of the headboard, with the exception of a lovely break-front central column. The headboard and footboard boast superb burr walnut timbers, with excellent grain configuration and detail. The headboard and footboard are united by the original Roberts & Co. of Willenhall steel angle irons, secured in place by four original threaded bots. The Art Deco burr walnut bed comes with a set of sturdy wooden slats as seen in the pictures.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Art Deco burr walnut bed, which fits a standard 4ft 6” wide mattress (UK double size), with two-tone burr walnut detail, circa 1930, in excellent original condition. The Art Deco bed has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Art Deco bed retains its original and complete brackets, with the original angle irons, all of which are clean and in excellent condition. The Art Deco bed comes with a set of sturdy wooden slats. The Art Deco burr walnut bed dismantles into two sections for easy transport and easy access into your house. This Art Deco bed is solid in joint and ready to use.
