Persian rug weaving is an ancient craft originating in Iran, renowned for its intricate designs, symbolic motifs, and master craftsmanship passed down through generations.

Authentic pieces are traditionally crafted from natural materials, primarily handspun wool for the pile, often complemented by cotton or silk foundations and dyed using natural vegetable colourants.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-knotted construction on the reverse, irregularities in the pattern indicating manual labour, natural dye variations, and the quality of the wool.

These versatile floor coverings anchor contemporary spaces by introducing texture, rich colour palettes, and historical contrast against minimalist furniture and neutral flooring.

Preservation requires regular gentle vacuuming without beater bars, prompt professional cleaning for spills, and rotating the rug periodically to ensure even wear.
