A handsome 19th-century camphor wood campaign secretaire chest in excellent antique condition, retaining a wonderful rich colour and patina. Beautifully figured camphor wood is complemented by recessed brass military handles and a practical arrangement of drawers. The central secretaire drawer opens to a fitted interior with pigeonholes, small drawers and a writing surface, while three graduated drawers below provide ample storage. A fine example of campaign furniture, combining craftsmanship, practicality and decorative appeal.
