This Art Deco triple wardrobe dates from 1930 and is produced by Bath Cabinet Makers. The piece is constructed from warm brown walnut with geometric stringing, chamfered upper corners, and a rectangular profile standing on block feet. Each of the three doors incorporates a diamond-shaped floral and foliage marquetry panel crafted from fruitwoods and mother of pearl, complemented by silvered door handles with ivory and silvered hinges. The wardrobe measures 185 cm high, 152.5 cm wide, and 51 cm deep. Inside, the left and central doors open to a hanging rail and hooks, while the right-hand door reveals a fitted full-length mirror, two open shelves, three open drawers, and two deep drawers. The maker label is located inside one of the drawers. This large storage furniture suits a bedroom or dressing room setting in a contemporary home, offering substantial wardrobe space alongside internal compartments for garments and accessories.

Art Deco wardrobes from the 1920s and 1930s feature streamlined geometric silhouettes, symmetrical proportions, chamfered edges, and decorative surface embellishments such as marquetry panels or contrasting veneer stringing.

Craftsmen predominantly used figured wood veneers such as walnut, mahogany, and maple applied over solid timber frames, frequently decorated with mother-of-pearl, ivory, or contrasting wood inlays.

Look for maker labels or stamped markings on the interior or reverse, period-correct hardware, hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawers, and authentic wood veneer patterns across the door panels.

Place the piece as a focal point in a bedroom or dressing area alongside neutral wall treatments, modern linen textiles, and minimal brass or chrome lighting to complement the wood grain without cluttering the space.

Dust regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly along the direction of the grain, and keep the piece positioned away from direct sunlight and central heating sources.
