London City Antiques has dated this Painted Satinwood Side Cabinet to the 1920s.
This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.
This wonderful decorative treatment continues across the front of the cabinet, creating a harmonious and highly attractive appearance.

The central cupboard is enclosed by a pair of beautifully detailed doors, each incorporating an unusual shaped opening filled with intricate woven cane work arranged in an attractive radiating pattern. The surrounding satinwood frames are embellished with further painted foliage, scrolling tendrils and decorative green motifs.

Of particular interest are the elegant curved open shelves to either side, which follow the beautifully shaped outline of the cabinet and provide an attractive space for displaying decorative objects, books or ceramics.

The central cupboard opens to reveal a spacious interior with a full-width shelf, providing useful and practical storage.
A wonderfully decorative and versatile piece of furniture, combining the elegance of Sheraton Revival design with the charm of early 20th century craftsmanship. Equally suited to a drawing room, hallway or dining room, where its unusual form and beautiful painted decoration would make a delightful focal point.
